We know you might have some questions before diving in, and we’re here to help!
Below, you’ll find answers to the most common questions about our swim lessons, scheduling, safety, and more.
What happens if it rains?
In the case of light rain, lessons will continue as scheduled. If there is thunder, lightning, or any other unsafe condition, the lesson will be rescheduled.
When is the payment due?
Payments are collected at the time of booking to reserve your spot on the calendar.
Can we switch instructors if needed?
We do our best to ensure a good fit. If your child is struggling with their instructor after a few lessons, we will attempt to switch to another provider on our team.
Can I continue to add lessons after my package ends?
Yes, we are happy to schedule additional lessons beyond the standard 8-lesson package. Scheduling the same day/time may not be guaranteed if lessons are added later into the season.
What equipment should I bring to each lesson?
The only equipment necessary to bring is a swimsuit, towel, and (if preferred) goggles. Our instructors keep all the specific swim lesson gear they need with them.
How should I prepare my pool for lessons?
For mobile lessons, the client is responsible for maintaining a safe swimming environment, including chemical balance, a safe pool deck area, and appropriate water temperature.
Why are private lessons more expensive?
By providing students with an instructor’s undivided attention during the lesson, private instruction leads to faster skill development, customized lessons, and in many cases a cheaper overall cost to teach the same skills when compared to group lessons.
Will I have the same instructor for all my lessons?
We book students with the same instructor for all of their lessons.
Can you work with disabilities?
Yes! We personalize lessons for each swimmer and have instructors with experience in adaptive swim instruction.
My schedule is inconsistent, can I book lessons at different times each week?
While we do recommend scheduling at least 2 or 3 lessons per week for optimal progression, we are happy to work around your availability, holiday plans, or other scheduling needs.
How often are the lessons?
We recommend scheduling 3 lessons per week. This provides a quick enough frequency to keep lessons fresh in the student’s mind, without overwhelming the student with new information.
What is a water comfort class?
This is a parent-child class for toddlers under 3. This class focuses on basic survival safety skill and building water confidence so that the student is ready for independent swim lessons in the future.
Can I watch my child’s swim lessons?
Yes, you can watch the lesson and our instructors often customize lessons to include some level of parent engagement.
What are the best colors for a swim suit?
Bright colors like neon pink, orange, and yellow improve visibility in the water for safety. Avoid blues, greens, and patterns that include white.
Can I refer my friends?
Absolutely! We have a strong referral program that benefits both you and the person you refer.
